Miss Kavita Singh is an accredited Gynaecologist and Gynaecological cancer surgeon with over 25 years experience. Her expertise extends to management of all types of gynaecological cancers which include ovarian, cervical and uterine cancers. She is well known in UK for her advanced surgical skills in all types of complex pelvic surgery. Her strengths are management of advanced ovarian cancers, recurrent pelvic cancers and exenterative surgery.

She is a skilled laparoscopic surgeon and has introduced total laparoscopic radical hysterectomy for management of cervical cancer in Midlands in 2008. Her surgical interests also include fertility preserving surgery like trachelectomy for cervical cancer, which she has modified and improved the techniques from vaginal to abdominal and now laparoscopic approach.

Miss Singh provides expert management for endometriosis, abnormal vaginal bleeding, smear abnormalities/colposcopy, hormone replacement and screening advice for gynaecological cancers.

Miss Singh has acquired her clinical training by having worked in several centers of clinical excellence in India, UK, USA, France and Ethiopia. She began her medical training in India and continued in England.  She acquired her general gynaecology training with expertise in pelvic floor and vulval disorders at the Royal Free Hospital, London under the guidance of Professor Allan Maclean & Wendy Reid. She has acquired specialized training in fistula repair surgery at the Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She has also worked on research projects in the Surgical Planning Lab in the Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston, USA.

She obtained her gynaecological oncology training in Birmingham and France.  She acquired her subspecialist training under the tutelage of well known Mr “Charlie” K. K. Chan.  She advanced her laparoscopic and open radical surgical skills further, by working with Professor Denise Querleu and Gwen Ferron at the renowned Claudius Regaud Institute, Toulouse.

She has been a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at the Pan-Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre since 2005.

She is regularly invited to teach and to perform surgery abroad. She is the programme director for subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology in Birmingham. She has taught and continues to teach advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques in India and at the European Surgical Institute in Hamburg, Germany.

She is actively involved in research, publishes scientific papers regularly and is a reviewer for national and international Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology journals.

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and member of the British and International Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS & IGCS).

She is polite, thoughtful and modest in her temperament and passionate about the quality of her surgical performance.
